Lately, i have some time to go to "Sichang island " . It's placed on Chonburi province, Sriracha, it's near Bangkok about 2 hours. I traveled by the bus from Mochit 2 transportation. It costs not over 100 baht to there. I took an auto rickshaw or tuk-tuk to go to Ko Loy [เกาะลอย] the place that I would took the boat to Sichang Island. I took the boat about 45 minutes to the island. And there are many style of the traveling that I can choose such as by sky-lab and motorcycle. It costs with the time, hour that I took it. It’s not expensive.
eople there told us about the history of Sichang Island that in the past the name of it is “Srachang” [สระชัง] because there, it’s a good view and atmosphere that agree with the people who is cold or unhealthy who take a rest here will be well soon.In the reign of King Mongkut, or Rama IV made several trips to the island on board the first steamer built in Thailand, the siam Orasumphon. During this period, only a small number of people lived on the island. The King bestowed the title of “Thao Khiri Raksa” upon “Grandma Sem”, an old lady respected by the islanders, and appointer her caretaker of residents on the island. At the behest of the Kin, an old temple at the tip of the cape was restored. A new consecrated hall, a sermon hall, and monk’s quarters were built. The King did not rename the temple but kept its original of name of “Wat Ko Sichang”.

King Chulalongkorn, or Rama V, first visited ko Sichang when he was still a prince. Afterwards, after he had taken the throne, he too long vacations on the island on several occasions during 1879-1892. It was during this reign that Ko Sichang enjoyed its glorious period of development. At the King’s royal command, facilities were constructed for the benefits of its residents and visitors alike. Among the structures erected include convalescence homes, a lighthouse, bridges, roadways, wells, schools, etc. At the king’s behest, Phra Chudadhuj Palace was built as a royal residence where he stayed and worked when he took a vacation on the island.
King Vajiravudh, or Tama VI, when he was still Prince Vajiravudh, fell gravely ill in 1888. King Chulalongkorn sent him for convalescence on the island. The Prince stayed at a place built the government to rent out to foreigners for eight months until he recovered and regained his health.
Chao Po Khao Yai : The people believed that if who always go to respect him for 3 years, he or she will get the good luck.
During we travel around here, we will touch the fresh and beautiful atmosphere. Along the both side of this island are fulled of the trees and the sea of Sichang Island. .JPG)

On the left hand is the Maha Vashiravuth Bridge. It is similar to Laem Prom Thep but this is smaller. Most tourists populared to fish around here. And this is the nice place to see the sun raising, sun set and here we will see the bigger sun than other place.

Sichang Island is the place that valued for us to travel. It is not far from BKK and easy to go by any kinds of transporation. We spent about 2 hours and take the ship to the island.
This place suitable for the family and the couple or any groups. There are many important place such as the temple or the place that tell us about the history of this island and the history of our majesties.
